Meet Our Staff

Dr. Abi

Clinic Owner

Dr. Abi graduated from RUSVM in September 2017. Since then she has managed 2 hospitals, worked at an ER, and owned a mobile service. With 8 years of veterinary experience, in August of 2024 she took over the WellPet Group. Dr. Abi has special interests in surgery and trauma cases. Outside of the hospital Dr. Abi enjoys kayaking, and hiking. She has 7 cats and 1 crazy Maizi.

Nikkie

Office Manager

Nikkie has been with the WellPet Group since the very beginning, in 2011. She has been instrumental in growing the practice into what it is today. When she isn’t busy being the office manager, she enjoys hunting, fishing, and anything outdoors.

Georgia Goodbar

Office Manager

Georgia has been with The WellPet Group full time since 2023. When she isn't in the building she enjoys reading and spending time with her two sons.

Michaela

Veterinarian Student

I have been working at The WellPet Group for 2 years. I am currently a Vet Med student at University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine. Once I finish school I plan to come back to Rockbridge County. In my free time, I love to read, hike, watch movies/shows, and spend time with my horses, dogs, friends and family.

Haley

Veterinary Assistant

Haley is studying to be a vet tech through Penn Foster. She loves to hang out with her 3 dogs, make quilts, and work on the farm with her cows. She has worked at The WellPet Group for the past three years.

Angie

Veterinary Assistant

Angie has worked in animal health care for the last 7 years. Animals are her passion, and she has worked with all types including house-pets, livestock, and exotics. She enjoys spending time with her 3 children, riding 4-wheelers with her Frenchi “Hannibel”, and gardening.

Melanie

Veterinary Assistant

Melanie has been working here for about 2 years, she is currently attending Blue Ridge Community College for her Veterinary Technician Degree. She will graduate as of Spring of 2026! In her free time she loves hanging out with her Fiance and her sweet pup London! she is strong in her faith and is passionate in taking care of your animals.

Veterinary Assistant

Melanie has been working here for about 2 years, she is currently attending Blue Ridge Community College for her Veterinary Technician Degree. She will graduate as of Spring of 2026! In her free time she loves hanging out with her Fiance and her sweet pup London! she is strong in her faith and is passionate in taking care of your animals.

Mia

Veterinary Assistant

Mia has been working at The WellPet Group since she was a sophomore in high school. She has a passion for helping animals. In her free time she enjoys photography and staying active.

Mackenzie

Veterinary Assistant

Mackenzie graduated from Rockbridge County High School 2024. She loves working and learning to care for animals. She is planning on attending Blue Ridge Vet-Tech program starting the summer of 2026. She has a sweet walker hound named Rae and recently a chocolate lab puppy named Brier!

Carrie

Receptionist

Carrie has always loved animals, and growing up she knew she wanted to help care for them. When she isn’t working she is either hand-making jewelry, hiking, or hanging out watching movies, anything Disney or Pixar.

Meredith

Receptionist

Meredith started working for us in July 2021. In her spare time she helps on her family’s cattle and crop farm. She loves to ride her horse, read, help her daughter with her horse training business, and care for her 7 dogs.

Christie

Receptionist

Christie has been a receptionist at The WellPet Group since 2024. She enjoys getting to know the clients and fur babies that come to the clinic. In her free time she enjoys trips to the mountains, camping and connecting with nature. She enjoys spending time with her wonderful family and friends and of course we can't forget relaxing at home with her sweet Sadie girl. Stop by and say hi she loves chatting and meeting new people and their fur babies.
